New bus route changes to affect students

New changes will be affecting students that use the Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS). Starting September 2, 2010, all UBUS service will have extended pick up times in the evening to better serve individuals who take classes past 5 p.m.

The routes that will be providing some of the changes are: Route 40U, Route 49U, as well as the addition of Route 42U.

Route 40U (Holt-College UBUS) will have service to the Park-Ride lot at 5th & Scott Streets (Rockwell Lot) eliminated, but will be added to both the Downtown and South MATC campuses.

Route 49 (Brown Deer-Northshore Flyer) will now terminate on the north end at Green Bay Park-Ride Lot instead of traveling north to serve the MATC North Campus.

The biggest change will be the addition of Route 42U (6th Street-Port Washington Road). Route 42U will have service to both the MATC North and Downtown Campuses. Remember, that with all UBUS services, the routes will only operate when MATC campuses are in session. If any students have any questions about these routes or any other routes, please contact: Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) at: 414-344-6711 or on their website at www.ridemcts.com.

In addition, all students who have or go in to pick up their UPASS will be entered to win up to $500 for tuition. The contest is open to anyone and official rules and information is posted on every campus. This contest runs through October 8th.
