Men’s Basketball falls in National Quarterfinals vs. Ellsworth

Milwaukee Area Technical College’s quest for back-to-back championships ends with a 121-113 loss in overtime to Ellsworth in the quarterfinals.

Shelton Williams-Dryden finished with 31 points and 17 rebounds, both game-highs. Shamann Artis scored 29 points. Cyrus Little had 16 points and 7 rebounds. KJ Taylor scored 15 points.

The Stormers trailed by 26 with 15:55 to go in the 2nd half and then proceeded to comeback and take a 97-96 lead with 2:03 to go. The lead changed twice more from there before regulation ended tied at 101.

MATC now drops into the fifth place consolation bracket and will play again Friday, March 22. They will face North Central Missouri at 1:00 p.m.
