The beginning steps to having an online review of instructors for students to see have begun.According to a letter to Student Governor Dave Sommers, Interim Provost Evonne Carter is looking into a way to have instructors post their information on the MATC website. “Other colleges do ask the faculty to develop personal websites that include personal and instructional information to students and the public,” Carter said.

Carter states that there are no guidelines that require posting any information, but adds “many of our instructors do
provide such information for their online students.”

Carter explained that with about 2,000 instructors, “some of whom would need assistance in developing and maintaining the sites,” such an undertaking would take time.

Sommers believes that this would allow students an opportunity to have some prior knowledge of instructors and hopefully allow for students to make better choices of the instructors for the classes they need.
