Men’s Basketball bench gets playing time in victory

Stormers’ Mens Basketball played good enough to hold off the Concordia University Falcons and was able to do so while playing bench players in the second half. The Stormers beat the Falcons 81-67 in their first home game of the season before an enthusiastic crowd.”We did what we had to do to get our first home win,” Stormers Head Coach Randy Casey said. The head coach was happy to get all his players some playing time, but was not totally satisfied with how they obtained the victory. “It was a sloppy win,” said Casey. “We got through it. We got a lot of people some minutes.”

With the Stormers’ bench contributing in the second half, Concordia was able to keep the score from becoming too lopsided, but they never posed a serious threat to walk away with a victory.

“We did not hold up our end on defense,” said Casey. “We kind of let up in the second half.” The Stormers came into the game with a 3-3 record against non-conference opponents. Conference play begins January 9. “We’re building on what we were doing the whole season to build on strength as a team,” Casey said.
