On Thursday, March 4, a panel discussion entitled “Pathways to Peace in Iraq” met with students and the public at the Downtown Milwaukee Campus. Enthusiasm was evident among the panelists and attendees. The panelists included: Aimee Hubiak, an Iraq war veteran and instructor, Aaron Hughes, Organizing Team Leader for Iraq Veterans Against The War; and Luke Wilcox, Director of the Iraq and American Reconciliation Project.
Aaron Hughes discussed the need for everyone to get organized as a grass roots effort in order to continue protesting the war. Hughes spoke about companies and other parts of our society that promote and help fund the war.
Other panelists spoke about the economic and psychological effects the war has on all of us, as well as how the war is publicized in the media. Students in the audience also 1presented questions and topics for discussion.
