MATC is hosting its 9th annual Car Show, showcasing at least 300 cool cars, trucks, motorcycles and other modes of transportation in 18 categories for viewing and judging — from vintage to new — on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at MATC’s Oak Creek Campus.
About 800 people typically attend this family-friendly event that brings together car enthusiasts throughout the community and provides an opportunity for community members and potential students to learn about MATC programming and meet faculty and students.
The event also raises awareness about career opportunities in the automotive industry. MATC’s Automotive Programs are taught at the college’s Oak Creek and Mequon campuses, and at the Al Hurvis/PEAK Transportation Center at the Downtown Milwaukee Campus. All proceeds raised support students in the transportation servicing programs. These funds also help provide resources for Lunch & Learn workshops throughout the year, specialty community events, and summer career exploration sessions.
There will be a disc jockey, food trucks and prizes featuring unique, student-built trophies and interactive activities. The car show is free to the public and individuals seeking to bring their own vehicles can pay only $10 to enter.
“Our partnerships and fundraising have allowed us to promote careers in new ways,” said Steve Herro, associate dean/project manager of the MATCDrive program, which sponsors the car show. Herro added: “One hundred percent of our students who want a job, land a job in our local market. These careers are increasingly high-tech and through events like this, we are working to change the image of transportation servicing jobs in southeast Wisconsin.”
