Dominic Loew (#6), a freshman from Racine, charges down field during the matchup against Prairie State College Pioneers.

The trees may appear to be welcoming  fall, but on the soccer field, it is still a hot and sweaty summer.  For two 45-minute quarters our Stormers race across the 100-yard pitch, trying to maintain control of the soccer ball and score against their opponent. Unfortunately, the women’s team this year has not been able to compete. This is because competing schools have been unable to obtain enough eligible players. Nevertheless, the women are continuing to practice and hope to play soon.  Men’s Head Coach Jonathan Greenfield is committed to breaking their current losing streak. The only returning player is the team captain, Craig Ziarnik. This young team of freshman is striving to improve their ball handling and teamwork skills. Come root for them at the next home game against the Joliet Junior College Wolves Sept. 25 at 4 p.m.
