Today, MATC and Ellen and Joe Checota announced the launch of the Second Ellen & Joe Checota MATC Scholarship Program — the largest scholarship program in MATC history. The program will provide $15 million in scholarships for MATC students who require trade and technical certificates, technical diplomas and associate degrees in order to achieve meaningful employment or career advancement.
Building on their first program’s success, the Checotas’ aim is to empower 2,500 more Milwaukee residents to secure high-demand careers. This initiative provides support by covering tuition, child care and transportation costs for MATC students enrolled in several essential fields within some of our Pathways:
- Manufacturing, Construction and Transportation:Carpentry
Plumbing
Electricity
Welding
Automotive - Healthcare:Medical Assistant
Dental Assistant - Business:Property Management
- STEM:Website Development
