Stormers fall to Des Moines Area Community College

The Stormers men’s basketball team couldn’t keep pace, falling to Des Moines Area Community College 90-68 in Friday’s consolation matchup in the NJCAA Tournament. 

Gaming Highlight 

Even though the team didn’t come away with a victory, they still put points on the board. Sophomore guard Jayden Hackett once again led the team with 21 points, 1 block, 4 steals, 4 assists, and 12 rebounds. Sophomore guard Kamarion Ivory added 7 points, 1 steal, 6 assists, and 1 rebound. Sophomore point guard Qi’Andre Washington contributed 3 points, 1 block, 1 steal, and 1 rebound, and Sophomore guard/forward Jordan Jones finished with 3 points and 4 rebounds.

My name is Crystal Williams. I am the sports editor for the MATC Times. I joined the Times as a sports writer in the 2024/25 school year.  I am majoring in the arts and planning on transferring to UW-Milwaukee for my bachelors in Journalism. I began having a passion for sports when I was 14-years-old, specifically football, and then later on baseball and basketball. I joined the Times because I wanted to see how I would like it as well as becoming a better writer. I enjoy educating others about the ins and outs of sports and reporting on our great teams here at MATC. I enjoy reading, watching professional and college sports, journaling, and spending time with my family and friends.
