As back-to-school commercials air and classroom supplies go on sale in the city’s major retailers, dozens of MATC students moved into campus housing. In 2021, the former Milwaukee Journal Sentinel complex opened its doors to its first residents. Two years later, and students are still eagerly moving into their fully furnished apartments. Students were greeted by faculty, staff and students including the College’s Dean of Student Experience, Equan Burrows and three-time Coach of the Year, Randy Casey.
For many students, the transition to college marks the first time living on their own. While the transition can come with complex challenges, there are many benefits to on- campus housing including higher retention, proximity to campus, and increased chances for students to get involved. Westown Green is an affordable option for students in need of a place to stay. Students who want to apply for housing can still do so by visiting the College’s Student Life and Resources webpage.
