Participants develop eco-friendly action plans for the region

MATC hosted the 13th annual Sustainability Summit and Exposition at Potawatomi Hotel and Casino on April 13-14.  The goal of the summit is to educate, engage and inspire people to participate in ways that will help create a more responsible, eco-friendly environment.

Debra Rowe, president of the U.S. Partnership for Education for Sustainable Development, said “The Sustainability Summit is one of the outstanding corporate-academic conferences in the country. The program is always filled with useful information. I wouldn’t miss it.”

The summit had many speakers and exhibits for people to listen to and explore. The sponsors of the event range from Johnson Controls to the Milwaukee Public Museum. All the sponsors are contributing toward one goal, to help the planet.

One thing that differed this year from years past was that on the second day participants worked together as a team to develop realistic and eco-friendly action plans for the region. Everyone was able to get involved with the many interactive models featured. Overall, the summit proved to be a success once again. You will not want to miss it next year.
