Prime suspects Rebecca Lechmaier and Theresa D’Amato in the murder of magician “The Great Scott” are being interrogated by the detective at the Murder Mystery Dinner held on Oct. 31 at Klemmer’s Banquet Center in Milwaukee.

Great Scott!  He’s dead!  And, the Great Scott magician was indeed dead, dropped over like a lead weight in the middle of his act.  The list of suspects was long at the MATC Mystery Dinner at Klemmer’s on Friday, Oct. 31. The event was sponsored by the MATC Student Government.  And, fittingly for the day, many of the suspects as well as the guests were dressed as “real characters.”
Leading the crowd through the clues to identify the murderer was The Murder Mystery Company based in Grand Rapids, Mich.   Guest participants were selected by the troupe and were each given a hat to wear for their character part.  As dinner was served, the troupe and the designated participants used the clues provided to mingle and question and bribe their way to the solution to the crime.  Was it Lancaster Dowie, attorney from the firm of Dowie, Cheatam and Howe, son of the victim and husband of the much, much older Mabel Velcro Dowie?  Or was it the doctor?  Or eight-year-old Penny Lane?
Being held on Halloween night itself, Oct. 31, the night provided a great opportunity to dress up!  Among the attendees were Cute Clown, The Grim Reaper, Snow White accompanied by dwarf Grumpy, Little Red Riding Hood, Minnie Mouse, Cleopatra, a Witch, and Count Dracula and his victim.  Awards were handed out for best costumes and best participant.
After strenuous interrogation of all the suspects by the detective, the murderer was revealed to be none other than the innocent-looking Polly Ester.
