On September 4, MATC Oak Creek Campus held a dedication ceremony for the new Cyber Café. The new café, located in the cafeteria, was designed to be a relaxing place where students can meet or just surf the Web. Dr. Vicki Martin envisioned the café when she was Vice President at the Oak Creek Campus. Dr. Martin and the project team, which consisted of Deb Jansky (Oak Creek Floral Design instructor), Erin Becker (Construction Services), and Shanell Knight (MATC Architecture student), laid out the groundwork for the café.
With the groundwork started, the current Vice President, John Stilp, saw it to completion. However, Dr. Martin wasn’t forgotten. In tribute to the one who started it all, a Leonetto Cappiello print, “Café Martin,” was unveiled and hangs where you first walk in.
