MATC adds official to military education support

For GI Bill students, there is a new sheriff in town. That man is Benjamin Baerbock. Baerbock has assumed responsibility as the new MATC certifying official for all veterans utilizing the Wisconsin Yellow Ribbon program and other VA financial aid programs.
Working his way up the ladder of higher education for the last 14 years, Baerbock started working for Cardinal Stritch University as a financial aid counselor. From there, he was quickly promoted to the Director of Financial Aid Services and worked closely with their certifying official. During that time, he garnered skills and knowledge that gave him the solid foundation that a five-star certifying official needs.
Baerbock is excited to be a part of MATC. Meeting and getting to know the student body is quickly becoming his favorite pastime. Although he is still in the learning phases of what works for the school, he is on the lookout for opportunities for enhancement in the programs.
“Thank you for your service,” Baerbock added. “Please know that the Military Education Support Office is here to support you in your educational goals. The Veteran’s Education benefits involve many complex regulations that can be confusing, but we are committed to doing our part to help you navigate the process.”
Baerbock can be found in the Downtown Milwaukee campus registration office, S115A, during the hours of 0930-1600, or reached by calling 414-297-6394. When submitting documents for certification, the MESO requests all forms be emailed to [email protected] or sent via interoffice mail.
