On Friday Sept. 9, MATC Stormers Men’s Soccer went up against Madison College at the Oak Creek Campus. Dispite a valent effort, the Stormers lost with a score of 0-9 to Madison College. Defender, Shengyin Vang went his way to block a pass being made from the opposing team to prevent another goal being scored against MATC in the second half of the game.

The MATC Men’s Soccer team faced up against Madison College on Friday Sept. 9 in what turned out to be a losing effort for the Stormers as they were defeated easily losing 9-0.

Going into halftime the Stormers were down 3-0 but were still hopeful that they could make a comeback in the second half.  When asked what needed to happen in the second half to give the Stormers a shot at victory, Assistant Coach Tony Shelby said, “We need to refocus and step up the energy.”

Unfortunately neither of those things resonated with the players as Madison College went on to score a whopping 6 goals in the second half, compare that to the Stormers who were only able to manage 6 shots on goal for the entire game.

The undeniable stand out of the game was Toby Andrews who scored an incredible 5 goals in Madison’s winning effort.

As of press time the Stormers are still looking for their first win; a record that they hope to improve going forward.
