The Times Washington D.C. trip and MediaFest25 were really great experiences for me. I’m not a photography major, but I ended up taking a lot of pictures. Doing so helped me notice details I probably would’ve missed otherwise.
Seeing the city’s architecture and monuments, and participating in a Unity & Legacy Lantern Walk in honor of the 30th anniversary of the Million Man March were powerful experiences for me.
The conference sessions gave me a better understanding of how people use different forms of media to share ideas and make an impact. Even though media isn’t my main focus, I appreciated hearing from professionals and students who are passionate about it.
Overall, the trip helped me see how creative expression connects to everyday life and how visuals can tell a story.
