The Stormers women’s volleyball team gave it their all in the semifinals against Harper College; however, it wasn’t enough as they fell 0-3
Game Highlights
The women’s volleyball team struggled throughout the game on Saturday, recording 7 aces and 5 service errors. Meanwhile, Harper College had the upper hand with 15 aces after the first set had tallied 34 kills.
During the game, freshman outside hitter Kayleah Laughlin had a total of 7 points, five kills, and two solo blocks. Freshman middle/pin hitter Allison Chapman had three kills along with one solo block. Freshman setter Hope Martens with nine assists, two aces, and five digs. Sophomore libero Rachel Krueger added two kills, one ace, and four digs. Meanwhile, sophomore Sophomore libero and defense specialist #7 Kimberly Busateri had nine digs, two assists, and an ace.
The Stormers finished the game with a 30-12 overall season with a 9-1 record at home. This will mark the Stormers’ third straight winning season and their second consecutive year with 30 or more victories following a 34-8 finish last year.
Coach DeLisle Comments
Head Coach Shel DeLisle expressed her disappointment in not advancing to the championship. “We have struggled regularly with consistency, and that was apparent today,” she said.
However, the coach emphasized the importance of remembering the team’s accomplishments and growth. “We had a good season, a winning season, and can still build upon that,” she says.
