Brick Mansions

89 minutes
Rated PG-13
Director: Camille Delamarre

Plot? Who needs a plot when you have action? Action, action, and more choppy action; “Brick Mansions” definitely delivers it. The movie is set in 2018 Detroit, where all the criminals live in a sectioned off ghetto called, you guessed it, Brick Mansions. Damien Collier, played by the late Paul Walker, must venture into this god-forsaken area to disarm a missile that the bad guys plan on flattening the rich downtown Detroit with. This movie can be compared to a musical; except instead of corny songs every five minutes, you have frequent, cheesy action sequences interrupted by forced dialogue. For Paul Walker fans, watching the late actor in his final moments on screen is well worth it. For anyone else, avoid “Brick Mansions” at all cost. The only purpose this movie serves is to waste 89 minutes of life. It would be better to wait on the DVD release.
