Ricky Carlson, Music Occupations: The thing I love about myself the most is my persistence to continue to pursue my goals no matter how many times I’ve fallen down, (and) dropped those goals time and time again, but I keep getting up. When everything is all down and out, you have time to get back up. It’s not all over.

Alima Lemke, Business Management: I'm getting very open-minded. I came here last August from Germany (to play volleyball for MATC). I moved here when I was 17-years-old. I’m proud of how I managed everything here, like opening a banking account which gets more difficult when you’re not a U.S. citizen.

Antonio Foxwell, Business: One thing I love about myself is my ability to push through adversity and to also push and work toward my goals. Coming all the way from Maryland and coming to play basketball and pursuing my Business major, it’s hard leaving everything I knew and not knowing a single person in Milwaukee. Just being able to push every day, practice and maintain a good GPA, pursue my dreams of basketball, and try to get as far as I can.

Cloud Vue, Web Design (and former Fashion student): What I love about myself is that I’m very caring and always advocate for the very best for people. I advocate for mental health and raise awareness for it.

Lisa Lieblein, Human Services: The thing I like most about myself is this is my third time around trying, and I’m gonna continue going. I’m not giving up. I started in 2007, and I had personal issues going on. I stopped for a while. I also was an alcoholic and I stopped that; I’m four years clean.

Nijeria Price, (M-Cubed College Connections Program*): I like that I can fall asleep at night. I am able to use my energy towards different things like school and work, and I’m able to separate them. *M-Cubed College Connections Program is a dual-enrollment program consisting of Milwaukee Public Schools, MATC and UW-Milwaukee that lets MPS students complete their requirements for high school graduation while earning college credits from MATC and UWM at no expense to the student.

Shukri Yusuf, Practical Nursing: I love (that I’m) studying nursing in college and I want to finish MATC and graduate. I (like that I’m) hard-working.

Nialys Suarez, (M-Cubed College Connections Program*): I love that I’m hard-working; that’s only come about recently. This program (M-Cubed) helped me become more hard-working and more driven with my studies and what I want to do, and I love that I’m kind and helpful. *M-Cubed College Connections Program is a dual-enrollment program consisting of Milwaukee Public Schools, MATC and UW-Milwaukee that lets MPS students complete their requirements for high school graduation while earning college credits from MATC and UWM at no expense to the student.

Destiny Virgil, Culinary Arts: My will to fight and keep on. Sometimes the going gets hard and to have great faith that things are going to work out. It’s a great motivator to keep going in tough times with school, or just personal issues. I would have to say (what I love about myself) is my faith.
